Game Notes

  • Behind Adam Plutko’s six shutout innings, Akron took the first of a four-game series, 4-0. Clint Frazier and Eric Haase hit solo home runs for Akron. Plutko and Robbie Aviles combined to limit the Senators to three singles in the shutout.
  • Harrisburg starter Tyler Mapes turned in his sixth consecutive quality start, holding Akron to three runs over six innings. Mapes fell to 5-2, having received a decision in each of his seven starts this season.

Tyler Mapes is currently third in the Eastern League in innings pitched with 41. He’s thrown six innings in six straight starts.

  • With two more homers last night, Akron has now hit 41 home runs this season, which is not only the most in the Eastern League, but the most in all of AA baseball.
  • The Senators, meanwhile, have hit 11 home runs. Only Portland (eight) has hit fewer homers among Eastern League teams.
  • Harrisburg ranks third among Eastern League teams in stolen bases with 40, but the Senators are by far the most efficient base-stealing team in the league. Harrisburg has been caught stealing just eight times (83.3 percent success rate). Rafael Bautista and Wilmer Difo have done much of the damage, combining to go 29-of-31 stealing bases this season.
