Game Notes

  • Pitching matchup – Akron: RHP D.J. Brown (2-0, 2.78) vs. Harrisburg: RHP Lucas Giolito (1-2, 4.74)
  • The Senators evened up a four-game series with Akron at one win apiece with an 11-7 victory on Friday night. The Senators were led by a 3-for-4, six-RBI night by cleanup hitter Neftali Soto. Harrisburg’s first baseman launched a tie-breaking grand slam in the bottom of the fourth inning and the Senators didn’t look back.
  • Soto, who also had six RBI four days ago at Richmond, is already ninth in the Eastern League with 21 RBI in just 19 games. Soto and Erie’s Dean Green (38 RBI in 34 games) are the only EL players to have more RBI than games played among players with at least 70 plate appearances.

Neftali Soto has matched his career high in RBI in a game (six) twice in the past four days for the Senators.

  • Giolito is coming off arguably his best start of the 2016 season, allowing two runs on four hits in six innings at Richmond on May 9.
  • Andrew Robinson improved to 3-0 for the Senators this season with a win last night by throwing three innings of one-run baseball in relief of Reynaldo Lopez.
