Senators Roster Moves: Difo promoted to Nationals
The Washington Nationals announced this morning that INF Wilmer Difo has been promoted to the Nationals from Harrisburg. Difo is taking the roster spot of Stephen Drew, who was placed on the 15-day DL with vertigo-like symptoms.
There has been no corresponding move made as of yet for the Senators, who will play Wednesday’s game against New Hampshire with 24 active players.
Difo has played the entire season with the Senators, appearing in 96 games with a .255 average, five home runs and 33 RBI to go along with 26 steals. Difo has been sensational in July, hitting .337/.378/.446.
The switch-hitting infielder appeared in 15 games with the Nationals last season, going 2-for-11 with a run scored.
