Game 107 at Hartford: Lineups and Notes
- Pitching Matchups:
- Harrisburg: RHP Tyler Mapes (10-6, 3.30) vs. Hartford: RHP Alex Balog (2-0, 6.20)
Tyler Mapes looks to continue his 2016 magic for the Senators today. His ten wins ties him for the league lead. He also has three nine-inning complete games. Tyler is 3-1 in four July starts with a 2.93 ERA. He’s pitched three times against Hartford this season and is 1-2 with a 3.50 ERA in 18 innings of work.
Alex Balog is on the hill for the Yard Goats. He was promoted to Hartford from Modesto on June 24. He was 1-1 with a 0.93 ERA in two starts in the California League before being promoted. He began the season in extended spring training for the Rockies.
The teams split two yesterday with the Sens winning game two 2-0 thanks to strong pitching from Mark Blackmar and a two-run blast by KevinKeyes. The first baseman/outfielder is now batting .280 in his last 10 games.
- The top two teams in the Western Division, Altoona and Harrisburg, are the only clubs in the division with winning records on the road. Both teams are only one game over .500 away from home though as Altoona is 27-26 and Harrisburg is 26-25. Not surprisingly for a team that doesn’t have a home, Hartford owns the best record in the Eastern League when playing “away” games as the Yard Goats are 30-21 when batting first.
