Game Notes

  • Pitching Matchups:
    • Senators: RH Erick Fedde (1-0, 1.29) vs. Erie: RH Tommy Collier (7-7, 3.55)
  • Erick Fedde starts for the Senators tonight. He won his first double-A start last Wednesday at Altoona. He is the number four prospect in the Nationals organization according to and is in the top 100 in all of minor league baseball. He was the Carolina League Pitcher of the Week July 17.
  • Harrisburg couldn’t crawl out of an early hole on Sunday afternoon in their series-losing 6-2 defeat to the Binghamton Mets.
  • The Senators are locked in a three-team race for the two spots in the Western Division playoffs. Beginning play today, the Senators are in second place and trail Altoona by 3 1/2 games and four games in the loss column. However, they lead third place Akron by 3 games. Harrisburg and Altoona have three games remaining against each other but neither team plays Akron. Akron has had a game canceled and will play only 141 games this season.
