  • Pitching Matchups:
    • Senators: RH Erick Fedde (1-1, 6.35) vs. Richmond: RH Nestor Molina (1-0, 0.00)
  • Erick Fedde starts for the Senators tonight. He is the number four prospect in the Nationals organization according to MLB.com and is in the top 100 in all of minor league baseball. He was the Carolina League Pitcher of the Week July 17. His first double-A start on 8/10 at Altoona was outstanding as he went seven innings and allowed just a run. He second and last start came at home against Erie on 8/16 and he lasted just 4.1 innings. He was a high school teammate of Bryce Harper.
  • The Senators used two three-run innings to break their five-game losing streak with a 8-5 win over the Richmond Flying Squirrels on Saturday evening.
  • The Sens are looking for their first series win since taking two of three from New Hampshire at the end of July. The Senators have won the season series this year against Richmond for the first time since 2013 when they went 9-4 against the Flying Squirrels.
  • The Senators enter play today just a game behind Akron and four games behind Altoona. The remaining schedules for Akron and Altoona are:
    • Akron at Bowie (1), vs. Reading (3), vs. Richmond (4), at Erie (4), vs. Bowie (4)
