Game 141 vs. Hartford: Lineups and Notes
- Pitching Matchups:
- Zach Jemiola takes the hill for the final time in the 2016 season. Though Hartford and the Sens have played 20 times this year, this is his first start against the Senators. The 22-year-old was taken in the 9th round of the 2012 draft by the Rockies out of Great Oak HS in southern California. He’s 2-4 in his past ten outings with a 4.06 ERA. He’s been with the Yard Goats all season. His 156 innings pitched this year is a career high, surpassing the 153 he tossed last season. He went 6 innings on 8/30 at Richmond in his last start allowing 4 hits and 1 earned run.
- The Senators split their doubleheader last night to keep their slim playoff chances alive.
- To make the playoffs the Senators must win today and tomorrow. A loss in either game eliminates the Senators. They also need either Altoona or Akron to lose both games. A win by Altoona and Akron either today or tomorrow eliminates the Senators. However, it is still possible for the Senators to finish first in the Western Division if both teams lose twice and the Senators win both of their games.
- Monday, September 5 vs. Hartford 1:30 p.m.
