Game 5 vs. Hartford: Lineups and Notes

The Senators finish out their season opening seven game homestand with a three game set against the Hartford Yard Goats. Both teams enter the series 2-2 after splitting their opening series. The Senators went 11-11 against the Yard Goats last season, and 7-5 at FNB Field. The Senators took four out of five from the Yard Goats to close out the 2016 season.

Drew Ward, Neftali Soto and Adrian Sanchez have paced the Senators offense through the first four games. Ward has recorded at least a hit in every game, while Soto has finished with at least two hits in three of the first four. Sanchez has started 4-10, including knocking the first home run of the season for the Senators in game one of Saturday’s doubleheader. The three-run home run was Sanchez’s first round tripper since July 30, 2015 while he was playing in the Gulf Coast League.

Greg Ross makes his season debut for the Senators. The 27-year-old righthander tossed 30 consecutive scoreless innings to begin his time with Harrisburg last season setting a modern day Senators record.

Luis Niebla gets the call for Hartford in the series opener Monday night. The 26-year-old pitched portions of the last two season in Hartford, including last year where he went 0-1 with a 5.40 ERA in nine appearances all out of the bullpen.
