Game 9 at Bowie: Lineup and Notes
The Senators and Baysox play game two of a three game series Friday night. The Sens look to rebound after a 5-4 walk-off loss in the series opener. After Drew Ward tied the game with a two-run home run in the top of the ninth, the Sox won it in the bottom half on an RBI single by Aderlin Rodriguez. It’s the Senators’ the first walk-off loss of the season. The Sens won the 2016 overall series 9-8 over the Baysox.
TONIGHT’S STARTING PITCHERS
Austen Williams gets the call for the Senators in game two of the series, matched up against Bowie starter David Hess. Williams earned the win in his first start of the season, scattering five hits and two runs across six innings against Altoona. The right-hander started three games against Bowie last season, and went 1-2 with a 4.76 ERA with 12 strikeouts and nine walks. Hess is the 29th ranked prospect in the Orioles organization according to MLB.com. The right-hander received a no-decision after allowing three runs in five innings in his first start of the year at Akron. The 23-year-old pitched all of 2016 in Bowie, and went 0-3 in four starts against the Senators with a 7.89 ERA.
