Game 19 vs. Altoona: Lineup and Notes
The Senators embark on a six game road trip beginning Friday night with a three game set against the Altoona Curve. The Senators look to stop a two game losing skid after they fell 4-2 in the series finale to Reading, who were helped by a three-run home run by the pitcher Tom Eshelman. The Senators and Curve play their second series of the year after the two clubs split a four game set to start the season at FNB field.
Following Wander Suero and R.C. Orlan tossing two perfect frames Wednesday night, six of the last eight Senators relievers have not allowed a run in their most recent appearances. Left-hander Braulio Lara leads the way as he is yet to allow an earned run over his first eight and a third innings this season.
TODAY’S STARTING PITCHERS
Mark Blackmar starts the series opener in Altoona for the Senators. Blackmar is making is second start since his return to the starting rotation. He allowed just one run and six hits over five innings in his previous start against Bowie. The right-hander made his first start of the year against Altoona, gave up three runs in four innings in game two of a double header on April 8. Blackmar will be opposed by Curve right-hander Austin Coley. Coley also started game two of the doubleheader, and limited the Senators to one run in his four innings. Overall this season, the right-hander has a 2.76 ERA over four games and 16.1 innings.
