Game 26 vs. Hartford: Lineup and Notes

TODAY’S GAME

The Senators begin a seven game homestand Thursday night against the Hartford Yard Goats. The Senators took the series opener 6-2 after Neftali Soto broke a 2-2 tie with a two-run opposite field home run. The win snapped a Senators season high five game losing skid. The Senators and Yard Goats play their third series of the season and second at FNB field. The Senators are 5-2 against Hartford on the season, including taking two of three in Hartford in the last series the two clubs played April 17 to April 20.

THREE IS A MAGIC NUMBER

Following their 6-2 series opening win, the Senators improve to 9-3 in games they score at least four runs, however they are just 2-11 in games they score three runs or less.

TODAY’S STARTING PITCHERS 

Jaron Long starts game two of the series for the Senators Friday night. Long is 2-2 with a 2.20 ERA this season, the ninth lowest mark in the Eastern League. Long started back to back starts against Hartford on April 12 and 18, and limited the Yard Goats to just one run in 13 innings combined between the two starts. The right-hander will be opposed by Yard Goats starter Sam Howard. The left-hander started one game with the Albuquerque Isotopes before being added to the Yard Goats roster. Howard is 0-1 in two starts with Hartford and has given up just two runs on four hits over eight innings.
