Road Trip Recap: Senators salvage series split against Thunder with nightcap win

Thursday: Senators 6, Thunder 2

  • Erick Fedde bested Justus Sheffield in a marquee pitching matchup between top prospects for the two organizations
  • Every Senator batter recorded at least one hit
  • Zach Collier and Mario Lisson reaching base three times with two hits and a walk each
  • Ryan Brinley picked up the save, his fourth of the season, with two innings of scoreless relief

Friday: Thunder 5, Senators 2

  • Austen Williams allowed two runs in both his first and last inning of work to collar the loss
  • Neftali Soto was the only Senator with two hits
  • Jose Marmolejos arrived on a MLB rehab assignment prior to the game and went 1-for-4 in his first game action of the season
  • Derek Self pitched a perfect eighth inning on an efficient seven pitches
  • Collier left the game in the third inning and didn’t play the rest of the series

Sunday, Game 1: Thunder 2, Senators 1

Sunday, Game 2: Senators 6, Thunder 4

  • Spencer Kieboom and Drew Ward clubbed their second and fifth homers of the season respectively
  • Wander Suero worked two innings to secure the victory
  • Every time Trenton scored, Harrisburg responded in the next half inning to regain their advantage
  • The Senators put the leadoff batter on base in five of the seven innings
  • Through five innings, the Thunder were held to just three hits…all home runs
