Game 42 vs. Erie: Lineup and Notes

The Senators continue their seven game road trip with a four game series against the Erie SeaWolves beginning Monday night. The Senators are coming off a series win over Richmond after winning the rubber match 8-1 behind 14 hits and seven strong innings from starter Jaron Long. The Senators and SeaWolves meet for their second series of the year, as Erie took two out of three from the Senators on May 8-May 10 at FNB field in the first meeting.


The Senators offense has scored four or more runs in six of their past seven games, and have score six or more in four of their past seven. Six Senators players are hitting over .300 over the past ten games, including Stephen Perez (.500), Yadiel Hernandez (.393), Drew Ward (.375), Khayyan Norfork (.348), Neftali Soto (.333) and Jose Marmolejos (.303).


Taylor Hill gets the start for the Senators in the series opener at Erie. The right-hander makes his second start of the season for the Senators, after starting the year with Triple-A Syracuse. Hill worked a quality start against Bowie in his first start, allowing three runs on seven hits over six innings en route to the win. The 28-year-old started six games with Syracuse and went 1-4 with a 9.29 ERA. Hill is in his second stint with the Senators, having last pitched for the club in 2013 where he had a 2.71 ERA in 11 starts. Erie counters with starter AJ Ladwig. The right-hander makes his third starts of the season for the Seawolves. Ladwig has allowed six runs in 11 innings over his first two starts combined against Hartford and Reading. The 24-year-old has also started games at both High-A Lakeland and Triple-A Toledo during parts of this season. Ladwig was added to the SeaWolves roster on May 6 from Toledo.
