TODAY’S GAMES

The Senators and Altoona Curve finish out the three game series Thursday night at FNB Field. The Senators will try to salvage a game in the set after Altoona won game two 5-3, dropping the Senators to a season-high sixth consecutive loss. This is the final time the Curve play in Harrisburg this season, however the Senators travel to Altoona for two more series before the end of the year. The Curve lead the Eastern League Western Division by two games and a half games over Bowie, while the Senators sit nine and a half games back.

MARMOLEJOS CONTINUES TO ROLL

Jose Marmolejos has reached safely base in 21 of the 24 games he’s played in this season and has recorded at least a hit in 18 of the 24 contests. In games played since the 24-year-old was added the roster on May 12, Marmolejos is second in the Eastern League in batting average (.360), fifth in on-base percentage (.420), seventh in slugging percentage (.584) and fourth in hits (32).

TODAY’S STARTING PITCHERS

Joe Blanton starts for the Senators on a Major League rehab assignment in the series finale. The right-hander was placed on the 10-day disabled list on May 17 due to right-shoulder inflammation. Blanton is in his first season in the Nationals organization, and had a 9.46 ERA in 14 games out of the bullpen for the club before being injured. The Bowling Green, Kentucky native is the third player to rehab with the Senators this season, along with Koda Glover and Chris Heisey. The Curve counter with starter Yeudy Garcia. The right-hander is 2-3 with a 5.13 ERA across nine starts this season. Garcia has made one start against the Senators this season, and he allowed one unearned run in five and a third innings. The 24-year-old gave up three runs in five innings to Bowie in his last start on June 2. Garcia is the 12th ranked prospect in the Pirates organization per MLB.com.
