Washington Nationals reliever Joe Blanton has joined the Harrisburg Senators on a major league rehab assignment and is expected to make an appearance in Thursday night’s game against the Altoona Curve.

Blanton was placed on Washington’s disabled list on May 17 with right shoulder inflammation. The 36-year-old right-hander had struggled to a 9.49 ERA and allowed six home runs in 12.1 innings over 14 games out of the Washington bullpen in 2017.
