Game 60 vs. Binghamton: Lineup and Notes
The Senators and Binghamton Rumble Ponies play game two of a three game series Saturday night at FNB Field. The Senators overcame a five run deficit in game one of the series but Binghamton scored the final five runs of the game to win 10-6. This is the first of four series between the Senators and Rumble Ponies this season, three of which will be played at FNB Field. Binghamton enters play three games behind first place Trenton in the Eastern League Eastern Division, while the Senators are in sixth place and eight and a half games back of first place Altoona in the Western Division.
Corban Joseph finished 4-5 Friday night, making him 8-16 on the current homestand with a home run and five RBI. The 28-year-old was added to the roster on May 30 from Syracuse.
NEFTALI STAYS CONSISTENT
After finishing 2-5 in the series opener, Neftali Soto now has a team-high 19 multi-hit games. Soto has now reached safely on either a hit or a walk in 52 of the 56 games he’s played this season. Soto is ninth in the Eastern League in batting average (.311), fourth in doubles (17) and fifth in RBI (39).
Matthew Crownover starts game two of the series. The left-hander allowed three runs in four innings in his first start of the season for the Senators on June 4 at Erie. Crownover finished 3-2 with a 2.32 ERA in eight starts in Potomac prior to joining the Senators. Crownover was originally drafted in the sixth round of the 2014 draft out of Clemson.
Binghamton counters with starter PJ Conlon. The left-hander is 5-4 with a 3.32 ERA across 11 starts this season. Conlon is fourth in the Eastern League in strikeouts with 57 and has thrown two complete games this season which leads the league. The 23-year-old was selected in the 13th round of the 2015 draft from the University of San Diego.
