Game 82 at Binghamton: Lineup and Notes

GAME NOTES 07/03/2017

The Senators and Rumble Ponies wrap up the four game series Monday night. The Senators try to earn a split of the set after they were swept in both games of a twin bill Sunday afternoon. The Ponies took two of three in the only prior meeting between the two clubs from June 9 to June 11. This is the final game the Senators play at NYSEG Stadium during the regular season, however Binghamton still makes two more trips to Harrisburg this season.

Over his last 16 games Yadiel Hernandez is hitting .306 with two home runs, a double, a triple and a .426 on base percentage. The 29-year-old has walked 11 times during that stretch and struck out just 10 times.

John Simms starts the series finale for the Senators. The right-hander is the lone starter remaining from the original starting rotation from opening day and he is 3-5 with a 3.38 ERA across 15 starts this season. The 2017 Eastern League All-Star surrendered a person season-high six runs in his last on June 28 against Reading.

The Ponies counter with starter Marcos Molina. The right-hander started the year with the St. Lucie Mets before being added to Binghamton’s roster on June 16. Molina is 0-3 with a 4.26 ERA in three starts with the Ponies. The 22-year-old has worked at least six innings in each of his last six starts between the two levels.
