Game 92 at Richmond: Lineup and Notes
The Senators and Richmond Flying Squirrels finish the four game series Sunday afternoon at the Diamond. The Senators have two of the first three games of the series after they took game three 5-2. The Senators are now 8-5 against Richmond this season. The two teams play seven more times this season, with four games in Richmond and three at FNB Field.
Saturday’s game marked the second time in the past three games out of the All-Star break the Senators have scored five runs or more, as the team has totaled 16 runs over the three game stretch. Prior to the All-Star break, the Senators had scored five or more runs just twice over the previous 16 match ups.
Wirkin Estevez starts the series finale for the Senators. The right-hander is making his first start since being activated off the disabled list prior to Thursday series opener. Estevez is 2-0 with a 3.38 ERA over his first four starts for the Senators. The 25-year-old has lasted at least five innings and has not allowed more than three runs in each of his first four outings.
Nate Reed takes the bump for Richmond opposite Estevez. The left-hander is making his first start of the season and is 0-1 with an 11.74 ERA in two appearances with the Squirrels out of the bullpen. Reed was signed by the Giants as a minor league free agent on June 30 and added to the Richmond roster. The 29-year-old was originally drafted by the Mariners in the 40th round of the 2010 draft out of Kutztown.
