TODAY’S GAME

The Senators travel to Reading, PA for the first of two trips to FirstEnergy Stadium this season. Reading is the only city the Senators have yet to play in this season in the Eastern League prior to this series. The Senators look to capture the series after winning game one 8-7 by scoring a pair of runs in the top of the ninth inning. The Senators are 2-6 against Reading this year.

TUESDAY’S ACCOMPLISHMENTS

The Senators came back to win their fifth game of the year when trailing heading into the ninth inning in the series opener against Reading, the most such wins in the Eastern League this season. In addition, the Senators matched a season-high by tallying 18 hits, a feat they accomplished once earlier this season on May 22 against Erie. Finally, Dan Gamache became the eighth Senator this season to knock four or more hits in a game after finishing 4-4.

RIDICULOUS ROBINSON

Andrew Robinson has not allowed an earned run over the previous eleven innings and opponents are just 5-39 against him over that stretch.

STARTING PITCHERS

Austin Voth starts game two of the series for the Senators. The right-hander 1-1 with a 4.30 ERA in three starts with the Senators this season. Voth turned in six innings of one run ball in his last start against Portland on July 27. The right-hander began the year with Syracuse before being added to the Senators roster on July 17.

The Fightins counter with starter Tommy Bergjans. The right-hander is 1-4 with a 6.88 ERA in eight starts this season. Bergjans is making his first start of the season against the Senators. The 24-year-old started the year with single-A Clearwater and joined the Reading starting rotation on June 10.
